4 August 2013.

I got my licence!! I'm so excited!!! I'm still in my first area with my second Soa (make sure you say Soa or Prahata). Yesterday my branch got a new President, a man that reminds me of Papa. I blessed a baby in church yesterday, her name is Castiel Heather Amber Grace Whitaker--a big name! I'm in my fourth transfer, I haven't changed we just got more people in the district.

{Elder Nevitt, The Whitaker Family and Elder Malarde}

The week before last I went on exchanges with my District Leader. I was able to learn so much from him but I know that he needed to be in my area. My Soa and I have been visiting this guy named Roger Deacon but he hasn't really kept any commitment we've given him. But with my District Leader, Elder Brown, our conversation with him went a lot better, he read the POS pamphlet. I didn't know what I was suppose to do next with him, he said that he had prayed and knows what he wants to do with his life again--and I didn't have anything to give him. Elder Brown gave him a paper that had 23 questions and scripture references on it for him to read. We will go by some time later this week to see if he wants us to read with him and explain any questions he might have.

{Elder Nevitt trying to give baby Cassie a Book of Mormon}

Last Thursday was Transfer day. This Sunday I had the opportunity to bless the baby of one of our investigators, Cassie Whitaker. She is so cute. Saturday night I went over to their house to so the baby could get use to me so she wouldn't cry during church and she fell asleep. It worked! I was able to bless her without any problems. I am so grateful! This has been one of my first opportunities to exercise my priesthood in front of more than my companion and the person needing a blessing. Some less actives came to church to watch the blessing and now I think I will be able to teach there kids it they have any questions about the church. Please pray for them; pray that their hearts will be softened. My branch has a new President, and he reminds me of Papa so much. But he can draw like no other, I'm going to ask him to draw a Nevitt Knight soon!!!!

24 June 2013.

Well not that much has happened. Elder Malarde is feeling a lot better. We are back to working. Which I have found kind of hard to do again, going out into the cold.

{Winter in New Zealand}
I've hit my Hundred Day Mark!!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited right now!!!!!

{The only car Elder Nevitt can drive in New Zealand}
Friday we did some door knocking which was FUN in the freezing wind. hahaha. Well it was not that bad, a  guy said that  we could come back next week. His girlfriend was related to the lady that died in our branch and he seems interested in learning some stuff. I also found some things I can make out of ties when I get home like art and plant pots--pretty cool.

{Playing Bazinga at the soccer game}
Saturday we went to go watch one our less active families kids play soccer. I don't know if that was such a good idea. It was cold but at least we showed some interest in their kids. I love going to play with them Their youngest kids remind me of playing with the boys and Kaydee. They love to watch the Big Bang Theory so we played Bazinga while their older siblings played soccer; they won  which was good 3 to 1. Makes me wish I played with the missionaries on P-day (When I come home I want to play with the missionaries on P-day if they can't be with their district, because I get so lonely only playing one on one in basketball). That night we went to have Tea at our appointment. Right before I open the gate I heard this loud POP!!!! and then this hissing. Which is weird because there are no snakes in New Zealand. I turned around and my Soa's bike tire popped. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! It was sad because it was starting to rain and we did not want to walk back to our flat. The Young man that lives there said I'm not letting you walk home. He went out to his bike and started to take his tube out for my Soa. I thought that was very nice, so we were able to go home on our bikes, All's good!

{Elder Nevitt taking a little nap}
Sunday was fantastic. I am getting very comfortable there. After church I go and play a little with the little kids and talk to our only youth in the branch. Still combined for now, the work on the chapter is taking forever. Which is okay because we get to go to church in our other area that we are in charge of.

{Elder Malarde}
I am in my third transfer now, my third daily planner. WOW, time goes by fast. There has been some changes to our Hastings district. My district leader is Elder Brown (Aussi). Elder Nelson left me, it is the first time I have not had him in my district my entire mission. The Elder that replaced him is Elder Temahuki (Tahiti)--my Soa knows him a little from home. A funny story is that he called us to talk to Malarde and he was like do I know you and Malarde was like yes, we were from the same stake!! Funny as. And we get the privilege to have two sisters in our district now, which is going to be weird, I haven't been around sister missionaries since the MTC.

So that's all, I love you so much family. I'm still working on writing you but it is taking longer than I meant to, sorry about that, I will send more stuff then. Thank you all for all you do for me!!!!

444 God will support! Peace out, Elder D-Nev

PS my Soa turns 27 on the 30th!!!

15 June 2013.

Dear Familia,

How is it going everyone? It's been a while since I have written a letter to you guys, sorry about that. I just want to say I love you all. Thank you for all that you do for me. I feel all of your prayers all the time. I especially feel them when I don't want to do anything; I just remember why I came on the mission and I go back to work.

This week has been a good one. It has been a full week with my new companion. I have already learned a lot  from him. Don't get me wrong about Elder Kavea (Chief Kalifa), he taught me a lot. But Elder Malarde gives me a lot of strength. I do a lot of things that I would not have done with Kavea already.

{Snow on the mountains}

During one of our dinner appointments this week I was gonna leave by giving a scripture (not one of my strong points); thanks to Papa I was able to give devotionals during seminary. I was going to give it but my Soa grabbed my scriptures and turned to Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest". There are many ways you can put this into our lives and the way he did this is the way I want to. He wants to work as hard as he can so when he comes home to rest. He will be able to tell his children and grandchildren stories. He reminded me of Papa and Ole and everyone else that I know that has served a mission.

This Sunday Tony O'Reilly came to church. I couldn't believe it. We called him Sunday morning and asked him if he could take us and he said yea what time? This means he can have his interview and be baptized soon. Probably not before you get this letter. But soon! This makes me happy to see him come to church!

I got a new district leader the same time I received my new Soa. I like him a lot maybe even more than my last district leader, he is the man! He is very cool, his name is Elder Brown from Melbourne, Australia.

Are they really making a Finding Dori?

{Elder Nevitt's badge}

Today I went to church and I wish Papa was there. I now understand why he has garment wedgies with my new pair of garments. I also was almost in the chapel when I noticed my fly was down. It was very funny!

During door knocking the Lord prepared this one lady for us. She had been at the lawyers all day. And she just needed  the gospel in my opinion. She is going through a divorce, she was very interested and she took everything we had. It was the first time that I was able to give all of them away. So thank you for all your prayers. I love you all!
